The products you use-like soap and shampoo, the fabrics you wear, the electronics that keep you connected to your world, the gasoline that propels your car-all of these and more involve chemical substances and processes. Making coffee, cooking eggs, and toasting bread involve chemistry. Most everything you do and encounter during your day involves chemistry. As you find a seat in the classroom, you read the question projected on the screen: “Welcome to class! Why should we study chemistry?”ĭo you have an answer? The game is a lot of fun and gives you a sense of freedom in how you want to execute the game. ![]() If you are tired of loud and at-large robbery gameplay and like to try more quiet thievery, then Thief Simulator has a new career for you. Moreover, you can hit a handful of properties without repercussions. Pedestrians, on the other hand, appear out of nowhere at the most inopportune time. Homeowners are easy enough to avoid if you hide in the shadows. ![]() It drives slow and often hits pedestrians, rendering escape utterly pointless. Even the cars in the Far Cry games are better. However, The Thief's getaway car is more of a hindrance than a help. You can also drive away, especially if the cops are called after you trip over the alarm system. You can hide within and around the homes-including garbage bins and closets. They appear with white silhouettes, so you can track their movements. To add a challenge, the occupants sometimes appear while you are in the act of stealing. Selling your stolen items to the pawnshop will gain you cash, while more specific items can be sold off on a black market. Pulling off simple jobs will earn you XP, letting you buy better thieving skills. As your thief skill tree develops, you get more options as to how you want to steal. You can also get access to some equipment to make your missions a little easier. However, as the game progresses, you will learn how to pick locks to gain access to homes without making noises. You'll start your string of B-and-Es by using a crowbar to smash a window and steal some saucepans and kettles. It works by slowly introducing you to the mechanics. The game is more of a cross between the Thief games and Payday 2. What you'll get is a handful of neighborhoods, each home filled with precious valuables. ![]() And while it is a sandbox game at the core, it doesn't have huge open worlds where you can steal en masse like in the Grand Theft Auto series either. ![]() ![]() ![]() A Cold WarOnce you’re out of that cage, you’ll get to explore a story that, like its aesthetic and feel, is also starkly different than what came before it. So much so that I have to wonder why Guerrilla thought taking so long to put a gun into your hand and let you out of your tutorial-laden cage was a good idea. And though enemy AI is occasionally lacking, as Helghan foes at times don’t practice self-preservation or seem to even “turn on,” it’s normally up to par, and firing your weapons into them is a blast. ![]() Mercifully, that mystifying sluggishness is long gone, making Shadow Fall faster and snappier than Killzone has ever been, making way for a shooter that feels, at its core, a lot more like Halo than Killzone 3. More Must-See PS4 Launch Content: Also eliminated is one of the most well-known and divisive components of the franchise: its incredibly heavy-feeling movement. And while it doesn’t always run at or near 60 frames per second, Shadow Fall performs nicely, with motion blur slyly hiding some of its rough technical edges. It’s easy to lose track of time staring off into Vekta City’s impressive skyline, or run around looking at the plant life in the forest alongside the wall that keeps the two sides away from one another. Shadow Fall’s environments are gorgeous, diverse, and have a tangible feeling of scope, and it’s the pristineness of many of them that make them special. The wake of endless war - and the invasive industrial feel of previous entries - have stepped aside for stunning, colorful cityscapes, lush forests, and abandoned space stations. This becomes immediately evident as soon as you begin the single-player campaign. This story has allowed Guerrilla to explore different, more subtle themes, in turn letting the team flex its artistic muscles in ways it never had a chance to. It takes place decades after the catastrophic events at the end of Killzone 3, with the conflict between the two sides turning into a bona fide cold war as a result of once again living on the same planet. Play Killzone has always been a bleak-looking game, a product of its equally bleak story surrounding two factions of warring humans, the Vektans and the Helghast, but Shadow Fall one makes a welcome turn for the colorful. ![]() ![]() The story is fine, it's nothing special though. My experience Playtime - pre-Steam (running on Lutris), 65 hours post-Steam (running on Linux, ProtonGE), 18 hours (as of the time of review) The classic overused Ubisoft formula is still here, although that doesn't mean the game can't be fun The NPC AI is basic and easy to outrun or manipulate The open world is filled with things to do for maybe 10-20 more hours after you finish the story, but it doesn't really feel alive, and it cannot be compared to even GTA San Andreas or GTA IV ![]() The characters are alright, some are great (Anton & Diego Castillo, Dani have great voice acting) and some are bad (Maximas Matanzas are annoying) The story is mediocre, it has its ups and downs The game itself has great performance, runs well on Linux and Steam Deck, Denuvo DRM doesn't seem to interfere with this Look how well that turned out! ( P.S.: Thank you for beta testing the game, EGS and Uplay users! Now we get a feature complete game for $15-$35 while you paid astronomically high prices for a mediocre game!) Ubisoft spoke out against Steam's business practices and partnered up with Epic Games Store to exclusively sell FC6 on Ubi and EGS. This is just another effortless port from Ubisoft and goes to show how much they care about their Steam users. My current installation is 118GB after removing the other languages and the HD pack. You can remove the DLC, languages and HD texture pack (46GB!) after that by manually going through the files and removing them. ![]() ![]() ![]() If you download Far Cry 6 regardless of edition, you will end up with a 170 GB game. The first thing you should do is select a seed and version. Unfortunately, this leaves some structures like fossils on Bedrock and ruined portals that spawn underground, which will require some manual effort to find. In other cases, like mineshafts, strongholds and nether fortresses, the structures can easily be found by searching at different heights at the given x/z coordinates. For structures that always generate on the surface or seafloor, this shouldn't be an issue. The y coordinate isn't shown for every feature. Since those structures are small, often buried, and can be offset 10-20 blocks from the chunk center, you might have to do some searching/digging to find them. Various other structures such as villages and igloos can sometimes fail to generate in-game as well, but this should happen far less frequently than for the features mentioned above.įor some features like fossils, ruined portals and trail ruins the app currently only points to the center of the chunk they're generated in. The coastlines for versions 1.18 and above don't match up perfectly. Always select the version that was used to generate the chunks you're looking at.
